Hello Swim Team Families!  

We are just a few days away from our first meet of the season.  The meet details (sent from the HOME team) are below:

Spotsylvania Branch Family YMCA Pool

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Home Team starts to arrive: 4:30 pm

Visiting Team: please arrive no earlier than 4:45 pm

Home Team warm up: 4:45-5:15pm

Visiting Team warm up: 5:20-5:50 pm

Timers Meeting for all timers – Pool deck/shallow end @ 5:30 pm

Stroke and Turn Official Meeting with the Referee will be conducted in the YMCA Lobby @ 5:30 pm

Swimmers for Events 1-4 start reporting to the Clerk of Course @ 5:50 pm.

National Anthem: 5:55 pm

Meet Starts: 6:00 pm

General Information

The pool is indoors, yet the families and swimmers will be outdoors, except when swimming their event.

Team Areas: Home and Away team areas will be located outside the pool deck (left side of the YMCA as you are looking at it). You are welcome to sit anywhere outside within the designated area. Spectators are welcome to observe their athletes’ heats and asked to enter/exit to observe your swimmers. Space is limited. All families will set up in a roped off parking lot just outside the pool. It is sunny out there so please bring sunscreen, pop up canopies, outdoor chairs/seating, bug spray and plenty of water to drink. There are two doors for the pool: one will be for spectators to enter and watch their swimmer(s)' events and then leave and the other is our clerk of course door for swimmers to enter and exit.

We ask that no swimmers or parents enter the lobby of the YMCA for any reason (with the exception of data/awards volunteers). The locker rooms are connected to the pool area and are available for bathroom and quick changing usage. There is no "hanging out" in the locker rooms allowed and no food or drink is permitted on deck or in the locker room.

Please no standing behind the starter/Ref during the conduct of the meet.

Parking: Please park in the lots in front of the YMCA. Parents may drop their swimmers off in front of the side entrance to the swim facility.

First Aid: Please see the Lifeguard for assistance.

Concession: Please bring cash in case the concession stand can not process credit cards.
