Hello Swim Families!

We are excited to continue into our swim season and our second swim meet!

This week we will be competing at Caroline YMCA. Because the meet is being held at the YMCA, it will look a little different than our home meets. Our team area will be set up outside the building, and swimmers, parents, and fans will enter the facility when it is time for their swimmer to report to the clerk and swim.

One of my favorite aspects of being part of the FCC Buccaneers family is our incredible sense of community. Community will be especially important at this meet, as many of us will be managing multiple swimmers while also fulfilling volunteer responsibilities. If you need help at any point, please reach out to a board member or seasoned swim parent. We are all happy to help!

• Lights/flashlights
• Bug spray
• Healthy snacks to keep swimmers fueled through the end of the meet

We are also excited to officially launch our Buccaneer Buddy System! Each younger Buccaneer has been paired with an older Buccaneer buddy to encourage friendships, support, and connection throughout the season. This is another way we can strengthen our team community.

Each week we will have a different buddy activity. For this week's activity, we are asking buddies to make signs for one another to bring and display at the meet. Lastly, this week's meet theme is Luau Night! 🌺🌴 We can't wait to see everyone decked out in their favorite luau gear as we celebrate with our FCC ʻOhana (family). Grab your Hawaiian shirts, leis, and tropical spirit, and get ready for a fun evening of swimming, cheering, and making memories together.
